Giveaway day!!

Merry Christmas!  Because Sew Mama Sew! is so graciously organizing this giveaway day I have decided to do another sweep of my stash and pull out some more vintage 1990's Christmas fabric.  I have come up with a real variety! So the giveaway involves nothing more then you commenting about a favorite holiday memory or tradition on this post.  You don't have to be a follower unless you want to.  Giveaway close Friday at 12:00am and the winner will be chosen Saturday, December 18th.
This is 1/2 of the panel. The other half has a large mouse and two small mice
About a fat quarter of this red and green plaid.
One of my favorite ld fabrics.  I made a Christmas curtain from it years ago.  About 1/2 yard piece.
About 1.75 yards of this gorgeous red, green, and gold print.

I love this 1 yard print that has scenes of Santa, Christmas story, and children in soft colors.
And because I found a stash of these rolls of Christmas ribbons, I chose two  that fit in the box!  They are a stiff fabric.

Good luck on the giveaways!
I’m leaving you with two you tube videos by the band Orleans.  They surprised every on Saturday night by playing a set at the end of the local Symphony holiday food drive concert.  Luckily I had my camera.

Marry Christmas!!

Keep dreaming…Colleen

  1. Awesome giveaway! The kitten is so cute! My favorite Christmas memory happened when I was a teenager. My uncle bought everyone in the house (about 20 of us) some toy guns that shot Nerf circles. The whole family ran around the house and yard having a shoot-out. Grandma and Grandpa and little cousins and parents too! It was so much fun!

  2. My favorite Christmas memory is the Scrooge box that my father made every year. He played like he didn't like Christmas and all the stuff that went on. Yet every year he baked cookies, cakes, and made fudge. He also make a box with small hand made gifts in it for every person who came to the house on Christmas day. People would come unannounced and there was a present with their name on it in the box even though my father was locked in his room and wasn't seen till night fall.We still have a Scrooge box during Christmas time when the family gets together.

  7. My Dad playing Santa every Christmas morning. Before we could go into the living room, he would stand at the door, jingle the bells and say, "Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!" in a very deep voice. Then, Mom would look in the room and make sure all was clear. We would race to our stockings, squealing with delight.

  8. When I was a kid, we used to take the train from Miami to North Carolina every Christmas. My most memorable train ride was the time it took us four days to make the trip, where it usually took a day and a half - the train broke down, the observation car caught on fire, you name it, it happened! But we played a LOT of Bingo, and I remember leaving the train with sixteen bags of oranges that we won! Funny the memories that stick with you!!

  10. When I was small my BFF's mom and dad had a friend who dressed up as Santa Claus every year. My BFF lived across the street and her mom and dad sent Santa over to surprise us. There were 5 little faces in disbelieve when Santa came charging through our front door. We all screamed and I tried to hide under the kitchen table. Our eyes were big as saucers. A great memory for me. Love the old fabrics. Thanks for the chance to win.....

  18. Memory...do you know how old I am? I'm lucky to remember my name. :) However, I do remember getting oranges in a wooden box shipped all the way from California from my grandmother there. It was such a treat for my family..we were quite poor and there were four kids and usually other grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. staying for a while. The smell of those oranges was better than ice cream. :) blessings, marlene

  23. Because of the husband's work schedule, he always works right up to Christmas, then has the week after off. So, for the past couple of years we have done "postponed Christmas" and bumped everything forward a week, so we have that time off to spend together watching Christmas movies, baking, etc. People think it's weird, but it works for us, and has become a holiday tradition!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love our newest family tradition which is having meatloaf for Christmas dinner. It's so much easier than spending the whole afternoon in the kitchen doing a big turkey dinner, and the whole family loves it!

Of course decorating gingerbread houses and cookies with the kids, and going to their Christmas pageants at school are always fun and exciting. when they get old enough, I hope to be able to start up the tradition of going to Midnight Mass again, but by that time, I will probably be TOO old and tired to do it!

    Great giveaway!

The figures are relatively big, and all of them including the manger take up the top of the buffet in the dining room. I have it now, and it's the first Christmas decoration that goes up and the last to come down. It isn't Christmas without it, for me at least.

  63. I remember when I was little my family would go to my grandparents (on my mom's side) on Christmas Eve night. I remember always trying to find the really old Mickey Mouse (which I learned recently it's actually Minnie Mouse) ornament on the tree.... my Mom and Dad now have that ornament and it has been promised to me. I will never forget those times spent with my family on Christmas.

  64. My favorite memory of Christmas past combines both my own childhood as well as my children's and that was the continued tradition of having a family service or program on Christmas eve. My father would read the scriptures from the huge family Bible, we'd sing carols around the piano and share our wishes and dreams. My own children would write their own Christmas plays and programs for me and my husband too. Wonderful familytime memories.

We decorate them, painstakingly and uniquely, with egg yolk paint and lots of sprinkles...
