Ok so I know March is almost over but I forgot to post the giveaway! I have actually had the fabric read since February! I cleaned up my studio and work table and rediscovered it stacked under a pile of stuff.
The giveaway is for three different green fabrics at least 1/2 a yard each from my 90's stash. I will pick a winner on March 31. To enter leave a comment below answering the following question
How many and what kind of sewing machines do you have? How old is the oldest?
I have three, the oldest is my Singer Featherweight I think it is a 50's model. Then I have a White machine in a beautiful cabinet which with a knee bar this was my dad's moms. Last I have a 1973 Kenmore that was my Grandmothers. I forgot to add my Singer felting machine I bought last summer for a ridiculously low price on Amazon.

Dont be scared its not a horror movie, just my dialated eyes from the Dr. They were still dialated even when I went to bed. |
I have one sewing machine that is a newer, low end machine that's broken so I'm borrowing one from a friend (for like over a year). My Birthday is Monday and a new machine is on my list, so we'll see.
ReplyDeleteI have two machines, the new one is a pffaff creative vision, the other is a sears machine, about 15 years old. Tonight I was having so much fun sewing and getting projects together and my sensor won't let me sew. It said my bobbin needs cleaning, errr, sometimes a machine thinks too much, lol.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I have four sewing machines, two Kenmores, a brother, and a School Sewing Machine I purchased when the Home Ec Department was upgrading. I also have two old, old treadle machines - a White and a Singer. The old ones are not in working order.
ReplyDeleteI only have one sewing machine - a 1985 Kenmore. It sews like a dream!
ReplyDeleteI have a Bernina (the oldest)
ReplyDeletePfaff
Horizon
Elna Serger
Love them all.....
I have 2 machines. I have Viking 770 that I got about 6 years ago and a Brother 1500 that I bought used about 6 months ago. I love them both but the 770 is starting to act up on me.
ReplyDeleteI have 4 machines. One was my grandma's it is a necchi maybe from the early 60's. It is the only one she ever had that I know of, and my favorite. I have a 1951 Singer featherweight, that I love. I have a 1970's Necchi, it is a good machine too. And I have a white Janome that I paid $20.00 for at goodwill, and it sews like a dream.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!!
I have two sewing machines....a singer and a brothers.
ReplyDeleteI have a New Home (old Janome) that is from the late 40's - my power horse. A Brother basic - loves metallics and specialty threads and that's all I use it for - 8 yrs. old. Another Brother 6600 that is my quilting machine = 1 yr. old.
ReplyDeleteI have a Janome (I gave my old Singer to my daughter). It is only about five years old.
ReplyDeleteI have a Singer treadle machine, from the turn of the century; a beautiful antique Singer, probably one of the first "portable" machines, with the wood bonnet and attachments; a Singer Featherweight that was my mother's first sewing machine; a Singer Scholastic, a Singer 7470, and my newest baby, a Juki TL-98Q. So that makes six all together, and I love them all!
ReplyDeleteI have only had one machine of my own. It's a Singer, all mechanical, about 26 years old and I bought it brand new with cabinet and chair. I love it and hope that it never dies!
ReplyDeleteMGM

I have four sewing machines. My beautiful Bernina that I love. My 1970s Singer that I used to love before the tension permanently went on it. I still love it, I just wish it worked. My 1995 era Singer that I bought to replace my old one. Then I needed to get a machine that I could free motion quilt on... I also recently received from my sister my mom's Featherweight Singer, the first machine I ever sewed on. I am thrilled to own it.
ReplyDeleteI have four sewing machines. I've got a Singer which is my first machine my parents bought me over 30 years ago. A Janome (which I use now) I've had probably 12 or 13 years. A 1926 Singer treadle machine (for decoration) and a Janome Overlocker (Serger).
ReplyDeleteSewing machine? What's that? Only kidding. But no, I don't have a machine. I like my hand stitching, especially in front of the fireplace on a winters night. It makes me feel as though I have been transported back in time to the days of Jane Stickler where every last stitch was made with love...
ReplyDeleteSewing machines... I have many... I have a Singer Treadle, a Singer Hand Crank, a 1950s Straight Stitch only Singer, a 1970s Elna Supermatic with cams. I also have a 1970s Bernina 810 at the cabin. But my main sewing machine is my Janome 4800. And I have a Brother PE 700II embroidery machine, and Janome Compulock serger...
ReplyDeleteIn my sewing room is also my kids Janome sewing machine, and my mom's Janome Memory Craft 6500!
The elna and treadle are the only ones that aren't currently operational!
Wow! A 1975 Lady Kenmore we use is the shop, 3 Janome, one for sewing, one serger, one embroidery, a Bailey mid-arm for quilting. All have paid for themselves many times over!
ReplyDeleteI have three machines. The first is an old Kenmore that I bought about 40 years ago. It's just basic, but it keeps on sewing. Second I have a Janome 10000 which was a huge purchase when they first came out, I had fallen in love with machine embroidery. When I started quilting I used this machine, but when I took it in for repairs I bought a Janome 6600 just for quilting, that was a year ago.
ReplyDeleteI have two singer sewing machines. The oldest one is my mother's, I think it is at least 30 years old :D
ReplyDeleteI have two machines. both are recent purchases. I just purchased a new to me Viking sapphire 875 (yay!!) and I also have a used serger that I never even turned on. I want a vintage singer too but I am just waiting on that one.
ReplyDeleteI have two vintage singer machines and one 40 y o Kenmore.
ReplyDeleteOne Singer is a hundred years old and still stitching like new
Singer number Two is 50 years old.
I have a Singer 7468 that I bought a few years ago. It now sits in a refinished/remodeled vintage sewing cabinet that my husband just completed for me. And I also have an old Singer serger. I don't know how old it is because it was used when I bought it 14 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the look out for an older 60s Singer and a Singer treadle.
I have 3 machines - the oldest belonged to my Mum, a Singer bought for her by my Dad when they married in 1940. I also have 2 Husqvarnas - roughly 1974 and 2000
ReplyDeleteI have one sewing machine... Singer 401a...I inherited it from a lady at church, it is definitely an older machine, not sure what age though. I wouldn't mind more machines. :)
ReplyDeleteI just have the one. It's a Pfaff and about 7 years old. My mum bought me it for my 21st birthday because I do a lot of dressmaking. Since then she has also gifted me her love of quilting so it gets a lot of use!
ReplyDeleteI have three: a 1960's Montgomery Ward workhouse I inherited from my mom, a 2005 Bernina Bernette, and a 1940's machine I bought for the gorgeous wooden case, which we use as a side table. Just today we discovered a hidden drawer and found lots of 1940's sewing goodies inside. Such fun.

I only have one machine and it is a Bernina 180. I bought it in 2001(I think) I still love it but do not do any machine embroidery anymore.
ReplyDeleteI have three sewing machines. My oldest is a Juki that is 11 years old and is now out in the garage collecting dust because it drops oil like an old car. I also have two Janomes. One is a plain jane and the one I use the most is my embroidery machine. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI have six older sewing machines. The oldest is a Singer 27 treadle that's 100 years old. I also have a Singer 99 from 1918, a Singer 15-91 from the 1940s, a Singer 221 from 1951, a Singer 401 from the latter 1950s, and my late mother's relatively newer machine, an early 1990s Singer.
ReplyDeleteI have a hand-me-down Janome 9000 and a serger, both from my mother-in-law, both over 10 years old, and both work great! Best hand-me-downs ever. I also have a tin lizzie that's just a few years old.
ReplyDeleteWell, I only use one machine, but if I count, I have 4 others that I inherited or bought/used for my girls to sew on. Nothing spectacular although hubby was bringing home old singers from the dump for a while, but I have no notion of refinishing them...one was even a hand crank!
ReplyDeleteI have five - the oldest are a Singer Featherweight and a Singer 301, both from the 50s; a Viking I got when I was in high school in 1975, so it'll be 31 this year; a Viking I've had about 6 years, and a Viking Mega-quilter that I've had for about two years. And I love something about each one.
ReplyDeleteI've got a 5 year old Singer that I use all the time, a 3(or 4- I can't remember which birthday that was for) year old Singer serger, and a 100+ year old hand crank Jones that I searched for for 6 months before I found one here in the states(I was NOT going to pay postage for a 35lb machine from England- youch!)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! Please count me in! I have one sewing machine - Brother - 3 years old.
ReplyDeleteTwo, I have a broken Singer (crappy Walmart special that doesnt work.) I also JUST got a Kenmore YAY!! My new baby :) Happy Dance still in progress..
ReplyDeleteI have 2 machines. The first was given to me for Christmas from my parents when I was 16 (so 16 years old) and it is a no name doozy :) They got it from a school after it had been used for home-ec classes. My second is a Burnette Bernina and it is almost 2 years old now. I love it!!! It is my little baby :)
ReplyDeleteI have 2 machines - a Bernina Activa 240 that I bought when I started quilting 6 years ago and a little portable JCPenny Craft machine that my aunt gave me last year. Nice fabrics - thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI have two machines: a Bernina 440QE, which I love and a basic Janome, which I hate. Thus, the Bernina. The Janome is about 10 years old.
ReplyDeleteI have only one, a husquarna viking, around 25 years old but still working great!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this giveaway. We have 4 machines. A Singer Stylist 1972 that does not work, a Home Life treadle unknown that does not work, an unknown Japanese brand from 1960s newly repaired, and our new Husq. Topaz 20 as Christmas 2010 present to ourselves. Blogger has not been working for me the last few days so hopefully this will post. This is my fourth attempt.
ReplyDeleteI have only one sewing machine; it's a Brother and I have it for 3 years. Thanks for the chance!

I have two machines, a Toyota which is about 15 years old and a Janome which is 8 months old. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteTechnically I have 3 sewing machines but I only use my 3 year old Bernina. Love that machine. The other two are both Singers - my mother's Singer is probably 50 years old. The oldest I inherited from my grandmother and it is the Singer treadle sewing machine. It is beautiful and has such wonderful memories for me. I would love to receive your giveaway and would put the fabric to good use!! Deb DebStokes@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteNice fabrics! I have 2- Janome Jem, a year old and I do most sewign on that, plus a mint green feather weight from 1960s- she is a doll!
ReplyDeleteI have 5 the oldest being a Singer 6235 which (I sewed into the ground) I've had since '88 and the newest being a Janome MC11000. Do sergers count - I have 2 of those.
ReplyDeleteI have ONE 2+ year old machine..a Bernina Activa, and I love it. I would love a chance at your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI have two sewing machines, A Elna 5100 and a Brother innovis 350SE. I also have a Singer that belonged to my mother but it doesn't work very well.
ReplyDeleteI have one sewing/embroidery machine. It is a Pfaff Creative 2134. Too much machine for me. I should have just bought a reasonably priced machine that just sews. I can't figure out how to use all the bells and whistles this one has.
ReplyDeleteThree for me. A 1965 Singer, an 80's Kenmore and a new Husquvarna Viking. Thanks for a chance to win this great fabric.
ReplyDeletei have one, Janome TB.

I have one Brother sewing machine. It does exactly what I need to get my quilts done. I learned to sew on a Sears Kenmore machine.
ReplyDeleteI have a Singer Styist from 1982. It has never failed me...but I have to admit, I have been looking into getting a new one...
ReplyDeleteI have 4. One of my mother-in-law, a kenmore, from the 50's (needs work); another kenmore I bought in the 70's (needs parts) a simple Janome I bought last year when I got back in to sewing but quickly outgrew it. I have it put up to teach my granddaughter how to sew maybe next year when she's 7 and the one I use now is a Singer Confidence. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when they dilate eyes. I have not had it done to me but I have had to walk family members to the car after it has been done. LOL! I have only one sewing manching. It is a Brother XL 5232. I have had it for about 14 years. I have only taken it in to be worked on once. It is a good old machine. Thank you for the give away!
ReplyDeleteThe machine I sew on most of the time is an older Singer that I inherited from my Grandma-in-law (I was the only grandchild that sewed). I also have an old black Singer in a cabinet (electric, I don't know the age) that I inherited from my Grandma (which I don't really use). I recently picked up an older Janome Memory Craft 6000(from the 80's) just for the decorative embroidery stitches (but still need to work out the quirks). Thanks for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWell, I sorta have two sewing machines.........lol..........I got a new Pfaff machine in 2004....so sent my daughter home (she lives in North Carolina) with my old one.....it's a JC Penny's brand I'd gotten in 1989 I think. And she is sewin' up a storm with it still. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for chance to win!
Lori :)
I have two sewing machines: a Necchi that I bought in the mid 80s and a Janome that my hubby bought me last year (after he got tired of listening to me "talk" to my older machine when it decided to become cantankerous!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win fabric -- one can NEVER have too much fabric!
I have 4 machines. Two are old as the hills & just sit there. Another is my early days faithful old Kenmore. And then...there is my new Elna Q 7200
ReplyDeleteFabrics with dots!!! Ooooo, a must have!
I have 2, a LEwenstein, which is about 13 years old and a brand new Bernina aurore quilters edition. Hope To win your green fabric!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a 1962 Baldwin (the instructions are in Chinese) but I believe it takes Singer parts. Was my Mom's back in the day and the one I learned to sew in 7th grade on. Then received a small Brother for College graduation, and then my Madison (Maddy for short) Husqvarna that is my little powerhouse that my hubby bought me for my birthday. I'd love to have all 3 humming this summer :) Great question for readers to read the comments too!!!
