Happy Thanksgiving!
I know I am thankful for another year of life behind me.
I didn't mention it earlier in the month but November 5th was an important anniversary for me. No one else seems to remember it anymore but me. It has been six years since my last chemo. I survived that horrible time of uterine cancer that robbed me of years of my life and killed my future children. Sometimes the pain of loss hits me.
But I am thankful for my life, my job, my home and my family. And my cute cat Kalli.
I hope everyone has a great day with family and friends. Me I'm off to make zuchinni bread-yum! Then to mom and dad's for fun day.
I know I've been silent for the last week and a half. As a teacher librarian I've been dealing with a book fair and not a lot of sewing. The last two days I've been making up for lost time and have a lot of sewing to blog about. Also my trip to Asheville two weeks ago.
Keep dreaming...Colleen

Five years ago this week, I was waiting to hear if my breast biopsy showed cancer. I cooked Thanksgiving dinner and had all my family here and didn't tell them until I found out, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving that I would be having a bilateral mastectomy.
ReplyDeleteThis Thanksgiving I am thankful for my health and worried about my sister who has to have surgery next week to remove a tumor on her ovary. Worse case: ovarian cancer or lymphoma. Best case: just a cyst.
So sorry to hear about the losses, because I know they are real. But you are a hero to me, at a time when I need them most. Thanks for writing your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, I hope you have a wonderful day spent with the people who love you.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your loss, but I'm glad you are OK. 8 years ago I had a hysterectomy due to pre-cancerous cells. The treatments they were doing were not reversing the issue so I elected to remove it before it did become cancer.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thanksgiving and keep thinking of the good things!
Hugs,
Carolyn

ReplyDeleteYour blocks are really neat in today's post.
