I took up Megan's challenge this month and made a jelly roll quilt!
I was sucked in to the Granny square craze and found Imagingermonkey's strip piecing tutorial.
So I pulled out some 40's repro jelly rolls I had and in two days had a quilt top!
In another day I quilted it!
I quilted some grafitti in my FMQ.
The on the way to Canada for vacation I hand sewed the binding!
Now Im sleeping under it every night! Yeah!

I took pictures with it in front of the giant bobber at the 1000 Island Bait store before entering Canada.

Keep dreaming...Colleen
Yeah - good for you in joining the Jelly Roll Challenge. I love this setting in the coal grey. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt. Gray is so in now. So are granny blocks. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteI hope your enjoy the Jelly Roll Challenge as much as I do :D
Johor fun!!! Okay, I had to leave the phone's autocorrect on b/c Johor is funny. You did that in two days??????? Shut the front door! Fresh, (geesh) I am so slow. I see you have a vintage machine. I want a vintage machine too. I have a sort of vintage (1990) Necchi that gives me tension problems all the dang time!
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt and the layout. Great FMQ. LOVED the lake view. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your Rollin Grannie quilt!
ReplyDeleteYou made Granny Stripping look so easy and love the solid you chose. Glad you explained about what the heck you are standing in front of because it had me wondering!
ReplyDeleteDo you live near the 1000 Islands? Just wondering, I used to before moving to NC in 2005.
ReplyDeleteOh, and love the coal colored background you used!
Cute! I can't believe you did this quilt that fast. Thanks for linking up this month!
ReplyDeleteVery cool quilt and nice quilting !
ReplyDeleteGranny squares 4-eva! I love the layout on this quilt - that it's not just a straight-up grid. The Canada trip looks like it was a-mazing!! The fact that you finished your quilt while you were there makes it even better. Also, fmq graffiti is an excellent idea for personalizing quilts. Maybe I should try something like that instead of worrying about labels.
