Guess what was at my front door (and GIVEAWAYS!)

So I came home to this inside my door.
A week ago Karen over at FeistyEily decided she had a quilt surplus so she decided to give one away.  And guess who won??
Its a Christmas Mix tape lap quilt.

Isnt it beautiful!  Karen was worried that because she had cats some cat hair may still be with the quilt, even though she washed it.  It smells wonderful too-take a sniff!
Well I'll think I'll just let Kalli tell Karen what we thought of any hitchhiker cat hair..

Thanks Karen for a wonderful early Christmas present!  We love it!!

Now for the Giveaway...

In the spirit of Stash Manicure where I will be guest blogging on Sat. Nov. 27.  I have found some of my 1990's Christmas stash to part with.   A bundle of 5 vintage VIP fat quarters and 2 yards of a vintage Concord Fabrics print by Joan Kessler.

To enter:
  1. Leave a comment below on what you would use these fabrics for and
  2. Post about it on your blog.  Simple!
I will pick a winner on November 30, just in time for some last minute Christmas sewing!

I think I might add to the list of quilting resolutions for 2011-give away or use some of my 90's fabric stash every month.

P.S. Amy's is having another One Week Challenge!  I will finish quilting my secret Christmas quilt this week and bind it!
 Amy's Creative Side

P.P.S. Another giveaway here for some beautiful charm squares.

P.P.P.S.  My friend Gina is giving away an AWESOME purse on her blog

P.P.P.P.S. Trish at All Things Crafty is giving away a go die here!

What a wonderful win and beautiful quilt.
I am short on time since i am making gifts first, then I wanted to make a quilt for me. That would be perfect for a quick quilt that I could make in time to use. Perfect to practice my free motion on, too.

Colleen,
I sew appreciate your thoughtful comment on my post at Stash manicure!! I've told everyone that this post was meant for someone special because God would not allow me to write what I originally intended to post about. When I read your comment, I got a chill bump...you are one of the special someone's my post was for! Please Please show your Grandmother's Quilt!! I anxiously await that picture and your post on Saturday! My mother also had Alzheimer's and I know full well the horror of that disease. Thanks you for sharing.
Blessings this Thanksgiving

That fabric looks like amazing pillows to me!

PS...If I were to win your fabric, I would make a quilt for a young mother who was put on bed rest this week to try and save her pregnancy. Her first child was adopted and this is her FIRST pregnancy EVER...all want her to terminate the pregnancy but she is going to allow God to make that decision so in the meantime she lies on the couch or bed while the rest of us try to help her...BTW, her retired parents live 2 hrs. away and will NOT come to help. Anyhoo...I'm sure whatever the outcome, a quilt will help in the healing and/or waiting process.

Thanks for the chance :)

If I were to win the fabric I would make a Christmas table topper. I'm really lacking in the quilted seasonal department. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your great giveaway!

I love VIP's 90's fabric lines. There is enough fabric there to make an inviting lap quilt for the corner rocker - with old teddy in a new bow and miss dolly in a new dress.
And what a fantabulous quilt you received! And if it passed the cat scan - it's a keeper.

Hi! It would be sooo nice to win a Christmas quilt like you won! Congratulations! What I'd use the vintage Christmas fabric for would be a vintage quilt--I don't have a Christmas quilt to decorate with. Thanks for entering my name.

Hi from South Australia! Congrats on winning that gorgeous quilt...it is lovely! Now, hmmm...if I were to win your giveaway I think I would use the 2 yards of fabric to make a lovely (and easy) Christmas quilt/table cloth to use when my family are over for lunch and dinner on Christmas Day. I would also make some nice little bags from the other fabric, and put them under the K-Mart Christmas Tree with little goodies in them for the Salvation Army to distribute, as I am blessed and we always share some lovin' at Christmas. ps: I have a Christmas Giveaway on my blog too if you would like to enter! Happy Thanksgiving to your and your family. Hugs n Blessings from Sue x

Congratulations on receiving that wonderful quilt. It's so bright and fresh. Perfect for Christmas.

I'd probably make a Christmas tree skirt with the fabrics. We're looking at getting a new tree (bigger) so would need a new skirt for it, right?

Aren't you the lucky one winning that nice quilt! I've depleted my Christmas fabric stash with recent gift sewing. If I won your fabric I think I would make a square in square small quilt. Thanks for the giveaway.

I learned about your giveaway on Linda at Stray Stitches' blog. The lapquilt you won is a great prize. And I am addicted to Christmas fabric. I love all of the collections, and especially love vintage.
I'm posting your giveaway on the sidebar of my blog.

I am not going to lie, I can't guarantee what I would do with the fabrics, but I am looking for "the perfect" fabric to make a few tree skirts, I also have a all hanging AND a throw in the plans but have not found quite the right fabrics to go along with others I have been gifted (from teh 90s too!!) so perhaps these are what I've been lookign for!!

I read your entry at Stash Manicure today and I too am a Born Again Quilter! :) I took a 6 year hiatus after a big move and I've been going full steam for a few years now. I found it fascinating how things have changed in the quilting world since I started in the mid-90's. Even my style has changed!! Anyway for your giveaway these fabrics would make wonderful placemats or a table runner!

Beautiful fabric. I'd love to make it into a wall hanging!

I just read your post on Stash Manicure and had to check out your blog. Thanks for the giveaway! I would use the fabric to make a real simple x-mas quilt for my mother. I am trying to make a x-mas quilt for everyone in my family as we should all have a x-mas quilt to cuddle under and look at the decorated x-mas tree.

I will put your give away on my post now! :o)

Happy belated Thanksgiving....I do have so much to be thankful for.
