Bloggers Quilt festival-2013 spring edition part 2

So this year we can enter 2 quilts!!

So I've decided to enter my Madrona Road challenge quilt.  The MQG issued a challenge along with fabric from the line. Our guild gave us a selection of fat eighths.  I challenged myself to only use those fabrics plus solids from my stash.

"Starburst"

36 x 36

Entered in the wall quilts (for lack of a better category)

I actually drew out the design first, calculating the fabric needed based on what I could get out of the fat eighths.  I added a yellow and Westminster Dogwood gray.
I machine quilted it using a wonderful yellow Aurifil 40wt.  I love the effect on the center!

I used the scraps for the back and the binding.

I dont have the best pictures.  It was rainy and I was on a deadline.  We were turning them into our guild for donation to Senior Services.  We make lap quilts @ 36" square for wheel chair bound seniors.

So come out and vote for my quilt and check out all the others in the Blogger's Quilt Festival!

keep dreaming...Colleen
I refashioned "Starburst" and entered it in the Accuquilt barnquilt contest.
It was one of FOUR entries I had in the top 100!

Lovely! I love the design and how nicely it blends the fabric together. Saw this on Blogger's Quilt Festival :)
